Hiring &
Retention

Some cases begin years before the incident, in a background check that missed what it should have caught or a personnel file that kept growing without consequence. Hiring and retention analysis reads that history against accepted practice.

Questions

Before the record is sent.

When does retention become the story?
When the file shows the agency knew: complaints, discipline, or warnings that accumulated while the officer stayed on the street. The analysis documents that knowledge trail.
What does retention cost?
A non-refundable retainer of $8,000–$9,000 covering 29–33 hours of discovery review, report writing and conferences at $275 per hour. Most reports are completed within the retainer. The full published schedule is on the For Counsel page.
